Cupping
Using a glass or plastic cup, a slight vacuum is created as the cups are placed over acupuncture needles to enhance the effect of treatment. They can also be used as 'moving cupping', where oil is put on the affected area such as the back. The cups are then moved in the area and along meridians or acupuncture channels. This is particularly effective for stress related conditions e.g. painful neck, shoulder and back conditions. It can also be used to help clear chest congestion. Cupping, by its action, may cause some skin bruising and is not suitable for everyone, but any marking resolves quickly.
