Traditional Chinese Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese Acupuncture (TCA) has been used to restore, promote and maintain good health for over 2,500 years. According to the tradition our health is dependent on the body's motivating energy (Qi) moving in a smooth and balanced way through channels under the skin.

The flow of Qi can be disturbed by many factors; physical, mental and emotional. By inserting fine needles into the channels of energy the acupuncturist can stimulate the body’s natural healing response and help restore its natural balance. In this way, the underlying cause of the condition is treated, not just the symptoms.

Not merely a means to relieve pain, TCA is used to treat a wide range of illnesses and concentrates on the patient as an individual. Recently recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) for persistent low back pain (and available through the NHS), it enjoys increasingly widespread acceptance in the west as a very safe and effective complementary treatment
